Coach Burnsky joined Sherwood in their 2019 season after serving as the Blake HS Coach for 8 years, leading Blake´s Boys and Girls to 4 Division Titles and the Boys to one Regional Champrionship. Coach Burnsky followed up Sherwood´s 2018 State Championship campaign with another Regional Championship for the Warriors. In 2022 and 2023, Sherwood´s Boys won their Division.
Coach Burnsky swam locally with the Olney Mill Otters for fourteen years, serving as an assistant coach and Head Coach for ten additional years. He held many Olney Mill records from 8 and under through the 13-14 age groups and held the MCSL Record in 8 and Under and 9-10 25 Breast for a short stint. Ryan swam for RMSC and Sherwood High School from 2001-2005, lettering all four years, and being named Captain for his Junior and Senior season. Ryan briefly continued to swim at Virginia Tech after high school. Ryan double majored in History and Secondary Education graduating from Towson University. Ryan currently is a Social Studies teacher at Sherwood High School and coaches the Tanterra Tarpons in the summer months.
Captains
Maya Quiroga- Maya is serving in her second year as a Captain for the Warriors. She specializes in sprint Freestyle events, but is a jack of all trades. In addition to Swim, Maya is a Varsity Cheerleader for the Warriors. Maya represents the Hallowell Hurricanes in the summer months.
Jill Williams- Jill is a Senior Captain that specializes in Fly and IM events. Her only wish is that events in high school meets were longer distances...Jill is a plug and play swimmer that has strong speed in any event she swims which makes her a dangerous asset for the Warriors. Jill spends her summer with the Tanterra Tarpons and she has committed to swimming for Rowan University in 2026!
Calum Jagannathan- Calum is a sprint Freestyler and Fly specialist that has been a huge part of the Boys success over the past few years. He is willing to step into any events an always motivates his relays and teammates at meets. Calum is also a two time State Champion Catcher for the Sherwood Baseball team.
Ryan Prudenti- Ryan is four year member and three time "Most Improved" Diver for the Sherwood Dive team. Ryan's positive attitude and team first mentality is crucial to the Boys Dive team.
Ella Costolo- As the Girls Junior Captain, Ella will showcase her strong team spirit and constant motivation for the Warriors. Ella also is a member of the Sherwood Varsity Field Hockey Team and member of the prestigous Sherwood production Rock n Roll Revival. Ella is a true Warrior, that is happy and willing to step into any events that she is needed in.
Tyler Kominski- Tyler will serve as the Junior Captain after already compiling an impressive resume as a Warrior. Tyler holds 4 Sherwood records, a 4 time Regional Champ and two time State and Metro runner -up. Tyler looks to motivate and lead the squad with dominating swims and spirited personality.
